i guess this article can be written as many times as possible and people will still read it huh?
where’s the article talking about how white academics are coddled and allowed to be mediocre huh? where’s that article? ah wait the authors are too busy writing about trump being persecuted
in my first quarter of this year alone, my first year at college, i have had to almost literally fight for absolute basic decency towards my disabilities. i have been screamed and cussed at by a teacher completely unprompted for misreading a verbal cue, and – when he got caught and confronted – he revealed he’d been tanking my grade and grading me harsher for my disability by immediately trying to rectify his harsh grading like i wouldn’t notice. i had my grade penalized by other teachers for missing class when they’re explicitly not allowed to. an entire math class broke out into jeering and taunting towards my fellow disabled classmate when she wasn’t in class that day. i had never even so much as said a rude word, mistreated a teacher/staff/fellow student, or even turned in a late assignment.
and you know what? after that, i yelled. i kicked. i hollered. i Demanded. i even threatened the loss of jobs and reputation. and you know what else? that’s the only time they would deign to listen, because then they had something to lose. and then this fucking loser and his incels-in-arms cram into their collective clown car and write articles about it, because it’s suddenly occurred to him that We Will Start Inconveniencing People when we stop being nice. people only take their heads out of the sand when you yell loud enough to hear and then turn around and ask if you’re triggered. fuckers.
“The cardinals assembled at Perugia after the death of Pope Nicholas IV in April 1292. After more than two years, a consensus had still not been reached. Pietro, well known to the cardinals as a Benedictine hermit, sent the cardinals a letter warning them that divine vengeance would fall upon them if they did not quickly elect a pope. Latino Malabranca, the aged and ill dean of the College of Cardinals cried out, “In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, I elect brother Pietro di Morrone.” The cardinals promptly ratified Malabranca’s desperate decision. When sent for, Pietro obstinately refused to accept the papacy, and even, as Petrarch says, tried to flee, until he was finally persuaded by a deputation of cardinals accompanied by the king of Naples and the pretender to the throne of Hungary.”
Erebor. Built deep within the mountain itself, the beauty of this fortress city was legend. Its wealth lay in the earth, in precious gems hewn from rock, and in great seams of gold, running like rivers through stone. The skill of the dwarves was unequaled, fashioning objects of great beauty out of diamond, emerald, ruby and sapphire.
#speaking of holy houses #gold and mithril and the arkenstone; the things the earth gives; this is more than their religion; it is their nature and their love #and erebor; kingdom of stone; kingdom of their heaven; was stolen from them #the fairest cathedral ever built as a city; hallowed halls hollowed into the mountain of gold and mithril itself #the best thing peter jackson ever did #was making this explicit #this gold fever; this greed of the dwarves was not greed at all but a need #and erebor is not just home; and not just their gold that was taken #but their very souls; tied to the earth as they are #the kingdom lives in them and in them lives #(see also: why moria makes my sob every time)
